Why, when people know some of the hazards of living in certain place do people choose to live there anyway? Pinpoint 3 locations that are known to be on the path of a particular natural disaster and explain why people choose to live there.
SYTERIA PERMINTER
ReplyDeletewhen people know some of the hazards of living in certain areas most people still choose it because its a beautiful site. or those hazards might not happen as often. 3 locations such as cali, hawaii, and texas. mostly in the texas area tornados occur and so on. most people still live here to enjoy the nice hot air and southern life style. in Hawaii and cali they both have beautiful beaches and tourist sites. which make living there seem pretty fun besides the hazards.
Although many places all over the world are prone to natural disasters they continue to provide shelters to many people. Despite the casualties that may occur many people would rather remain in there home town rather than move in fact although there is always a chance of a natural disaster they aren’t always happening. Actually, a lot like us. Almost every natural disaster movie has depicted New York as flooding and/or sinking. In actuality even scientists have said that Manhattan will flood in the future. After doing research I have discovered that New York is due for a category 3 hurricane within this decade but do you think that could force you out of the only place you know? Even after the terrible destruction of hurricane Sandy many New Yorkers still returned home and even started a “Stronger than the Storm” campaign. Regardless of the dangers of living in New York people still populate the area because they are very urbanized and industrialized. New York opens many professional doors and the city life is very exciting for many. It allows people to be themselves and achieve any career due to their wide-range of professions. Japan is another country that is prone to natural disasters in fact Japan is not only impacted by one kind of natural disaster but many. The types of natural disasters that effect Japan is tsunamis, floods, typhoons, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Although many people were effected by the 21 earthquakes, 16 typhoons, 13 volcanic eruptions and 7 tsunamis since 2000, the Japanese still chose to live their. That is because this is the life they know, in fact before they thought this was how life was everywhere. Being that Japan is an island they are very aware of their risk and in fact they are also well prepared. Compared to other countries who have less natural disasters Japan is able to care after their people after they are impacted by natural disasters. People continue to live there because although they have natural disasters their government still allows them to feel safe. Bangladesh is considered the nation most at risk for extreme weather and natural disasters. They are at risk of earthquakes, floods, tornadoes and tropical cyclones. Although they provide plans and warning systems in Bangladesh, that’s not what’s keeping their people there. Many on Bangladesh’s population want to move but just don’t have enough money to do so.
ReplyDeletePeople who live in certain places where they know the hazards live there because there is probably some sort of emotional attachment. And some people mat be to poor to move. Or, in a few cases, people may just want to take the risk because it's a beautiful place to live. For example, people live in Hawaii knowing the risk of a volcanic natural disaster, but because it's there home, they wouldn't want to move. Or people who live in beach house might not move during a hurricane warning because they might not be able to afford it. Or the people who live in places where there may be many earthquakes, like in California, might be able to deal with it because of warnings, and they have systems for it.
ReplyDeletejanel russell
Some people choose to live in hazard's places because the place is either beautiful, they have had their childhood there, it was always there dream to live there or they dont think of the natural disasters because they cant always think something is going to happen to them. something can happen anywhere. for example people choose to live in Hawaii... Hawaii is known for volcanic eruptions. some people may choose to live next to a beach knowing at anytime there can be a tsunami or a hurricane and they can lose their house at any time. last but not least people maybe choose to live in California... California may have many earthquakes at any time. people cant live of fear when choosing a place to live because anything can happen anywhere

ReplyDeletePeople choose to live in hazardous areas because the scenery suits them , dispite the consequences of living on the beach signifies a certain stature of weath in their minds.More better described as a dream home , the thought of natural disasters is the last thing on the persons mind. Many people live in exotic areas such as japan , hawaii & even california , in which all known to have a great number of natural disasters such as Eathquakes , Tsunami's & volcanoe eruptions
BRITTANY GARRIQUES people live in hazardous places because there is some form of attachment. like the Caribbean people known= that it is known for tropical storms but they still live there because when there isn't a storm going on the islands are fun and breath taking so people will always live there . another example is califoniia people know that it is known for earth quakes and forrest fires but they live there because it is beautiful and it is where the stars are and lastly japan people know that it is known for tsunamis but its quiet there and its different from everywhere else so they will continue to live there.. people consider these places there comfort. ReplyDeleteEven though people know there are hazards of living where they live but still live there is because either they have special memories or they really enjoy the things around there homes. Their homes are very special to them so they don't want to leave and move somewhere safer. Three locations that are known to be on the path of a particular natural disaster are Washington, Hawaii and California. In these locations they have a lot of earthquakes. Even though these locations are known to be on the path of natural disasters people still choose to live there because they enjoy the views they see, they like where there house is located for example by the beach and they have good jobs there.
I think that people want to live in areas prone to disaster because of the location its self. most people want to buy beach front homes, or vacation homes with beautiful views. many people don't think about natural disasters when they by the home because they don't think that it can happen very often, and when the disasters do happen, the people don't think that it will be bad enough to destroy there homes. Some grew up in these locations and love where they came from to the point where they wouldn't want to leave there homes. States in the midwest where twisters can occur, people move out there because you can buy more land for there money. Locations such as beaches in New York, Kansas, California and Hawaii have beautiful land although they are prone to disasters. Most decide to settle there anyway.

ReplyDeleteNew York is the first on my list. The place has been a few hurricanes since 2008 and ever since hurricane sandy hit us, the place has been driven in more predicaments. It is said that the Hurricane that’s coming next is said to be twice as strong as the last one. That will be the one that will change New York for the worst, yet people come here for the Jobs and opportunity to change their lives.
Texas, Louisiana is a hotspot for tornados. The air currents up there bend, twist, and curve and eventually creating a tornado. People move down there mostly for the fertilize soil that’s down there. That would make a good way for people to start farming and set up good business for future events to come. But yet, tornados end up destroying everything in their path.
Japan is the last hotspot for natural disasters. Japan has had earthquakes; Tsunami’s, Volcano Eruption’s and people still live there. They still live there because they have the most advance technology now on the planet. They have resources that make them richer and more powerful then China. They have nuclear power factories that send energy throughout Japan. They must keep it stable or Japan and everything around the country will be destroyed
People are aware that the place they're living in is a natural disaster hazard zone. But they don't want to leave because they still have good memories and they don't want to leave them. Three locations that are natural disaster hazards zones are Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri. These states get dangerous tornados. People live in those states because they own large land and have good memories in their town and don't want to leave.
ReplyDeleteAlthough people are aware of the hazards of living in a certain place they may still choose to live there. A lot of places have good neighborhoods that include good school districts or maybe just good schools in general. Some people may choose to live in a certain area because they have family that lives in that area to whom they want to be closer to. Many people might actually have to move because of their career. Three places that are known to have hazards such as natural disaster are California, Hawaii, and Florida. All three of these places are known to have had natural disasters, take for example Hawaii, the home if volcanoes. Although these places maybe prone to natural disasters they are still populated by millions of people. Despite the hazards of these three places they are quite beautiful and well known cities. Who wouldn't want to be able to say they're from Hawaii, Florida or even California?

ReplyDeleteAlthough People are aware of the hazards of where they are living. People want to choose places where they dont have to spend to much money on a house that has chances of being destroyed. even though many of these homes have insurence a lot of times insurence isn't there to provide you with all of the cost that you have lost on your home. also people love to be in relaxing areas such as the beach , although it provides a beautiful view from your house it can also be very dangerous, there are chances of hurricans or even a tsunami. places such are florida, Hawaii, califonia are beauiful but they come with a cost of destruction . If we take care of our earth there could be less destruction in these beautiful places
There is places like Long Island or New Jersey where it is easy to have a disaster because the people that live out in those areas are surrounded by water, but who's to say they can't live there? People live where they live because it holds a special place in their hearts .

3 locations people choose to live in that have natural disaster are california, antartica, and japan. california gets up to 3 earthquakes a week. antartica is affected by global warming and t melts things. japan can be affected by tsunamis a big one has hit recently. Angelo lucatorto
ReplyDeleteThree locations I'll say people Still live in where natural disasters are too happen alot is Florida , California and japan. These locations have suffered various disasters in the last couple Years. Florida suffers from hurricanes, tropical storms, and floods. California suffers from earth quakes almost everyday because they live on faults.Japan suffered from earthquakes tsunami, japan has alot of recent natural disasters. People choose to not leave because maybe there family is too far. Some people may not have the money to leave or some people just love the places that there in and think there is a less chance a disaster will happen from the time being there. Natural disasters can happen all over the world so no one is safe- Shaquille Adams
ReplyDeleteSome people choose live in these areas is because that's were they grew up, or some people stay their because it was cheaper than other estates, mostly it think its because a lot of people work in that area so they don't want to leave. In the plains they suffer from many drought but they stay their because when their aren't droughts their is great farming. Some people stay on the coast because they like the beach or have businesses their event though their a high flood risk. Another location is Chicago which suffers from earthquakes but people stay because they have cheap nice homes
ReplyDeleteThree locations that people i believe that people still live even though its known to have natural disasters are Arkansas,Washington, and Florida. Arkansas has a lot of tornadoes, Washington has a volcano (Mt. saint Helen), and Florida is known for all the hurricanes and tropical storms.
ReplyDeletePeople tend to stay in these locations due to the fact that some people might have grown up there, have family, stable job, or they can't afford to live anywhere else.
Dameek bristole
ReplyDeletecalifornia , earthquake
hawaill , earthquake and torado
florida, cyalone
hawail have better high shcools and pacific university.nice weather and samnan fire dancing.
florida is a place that old people stop working and move out and there commuchtiy ice agency
califirnia have lovey weather nice beachs and more jobs
People choose to live in areas knowing the hazards they might have to deal with because natural disasters only come occasionally while those places are the most liveable every day except for when a disaster strikes. Also, for some odd reason, areas in which natural disasters are common tend to be the areas with great scenery. Lastly, most people might have grew up in that area and they now have an emotional attachment to it and therefore do not want to move else where. For example, Hawaii is known is be on the path of volcanic eruptions, yet people still live there because of the beautiful resorts and their sentimental attachment to their home. Japan is also known to be on the path of disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. Regardless, people chose to live there for their advanced technology, high resources and for their own comfort. Florida is another place known for hurricanes and flooding yet it has a population of millions. People chose to live there because Florida offers great beaches, financial opportunities, and great weather. Natural disasters can occur anywhere and people do not live in the fear of them, they live where they please for their own needs and wants and for their own comfort.
ReplyDeleteHawaii is a place prone to natural disasters. But people live there for the beautiful land. California is prone to earthquakes. People live there for the nice weather and beaches. New York is prone to flooding ad hurricanes. But people live here because of job opportunities and scenery.

People live in areas where disasters may occur for many reasons. Even though the disasters don't happen all the time they can harm people when they do happen. 3 locations where disasters are known to happen are Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama. Texas is known to have hurricanes, and hail storms. Oklahoma is known to have tornadoes. Alabama is known to have tornadoes. People chose to live in these areas for many reasons, one reason people chose to live their is because they grew up in that area. The second reason is that they can afford to live in that are area because maybe its cheaper for them. My last reason why people chose to live in hazard areas is because the hazards don't happen that often and they may like the temperature and scenery of that area.

ReplyDeleteEven though people know the dangers of living in one location, there are several reasons they would still stay there. Family could be one of the major reasons someone could stay where they are. They know if they move they would be away from their family and something happens they’re too far to get help from the people they trust and love the most. Another reason they choose to stay is because they don’t have the money to move. They know they can’t afford a new house and have to pay a whole new mortgage and what not. They know that if something does happen to the house they have insurance that can cover it, so they don’t want to take a chance of moving somewhere else that they can’t afford and especially since they’re house is in a danger area, they won’t be able to get as much money as they would need or want for it.
Texas would be a place that people know they are in risk of drought, because of the constant amount of heat they get, but a reason would still live there is because they’ve lived there all of their lives and don’t know how to adapt to a new way of life or even living in a city.
California is another place that people live, knowing they’re at risk of several disasters, such as earthquakes, but they still choose to stay there because they might have family there, or they’re just used too how the weather is, when it’s hot all year round, instead of going through all 4 seasons.
People in Florida know they are at risk of being involved with hurricanes; they still choose to still stay because they know they have a steady life there. They probably have a steady job that helps them pay their bills, and they know if they move they’re at risk of not being able to live the same life they have now, and they probably don’t think it’s worth losing everything and starting all over.
Some people have been living in hazardous locations all their life. They wouldn't just get up and leave because a disaster happens. I'm sure when people move to certain places they know the risks . People move too hazard places because there may be better jobs or better opportunities. Despite the hazards, people have a life in those places.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is one place that has hazards. People live there because there's a lot of opportunities and that's their home they don't want to leave.
Florida is another, I have family that lives in Florida and that's their home so , they know hurricanes happen there but they wont choose to leave.
Oklahoma maybe one , they experience tornadoes.

ReplyDeletePeople choose to live in a certain place even though they know disasters will happen there for many reasons. One of them is that that place is all they can afford or they can't afford to move out of that area because they may be financially challenged. Another reason is that area may be sentimental to them and that is maybe where they grew up or something happened there that changed their life. Lastly, another reason people choose to live in places that are prone to natural disasters is because they may have a nice life there and do not want to leave that behind such as they may be successful, or even be living in comfort such as retirement and where the weather is nice all year round.
One place that is prone to natural disasters is Japan. Japan is located right on or around the ring of fire. The ring of fire has many fault lines and volcanoes. This will cause many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, such as the tsunami that happened a few years ago.
Another place that is vulnerable is California. Like Japan, they are also located on or around the ring of fire. California is also around a major fault, the San Andrea's fault line. California also has the Yellowstone volcano, but that is not an ordinary volcano, it is a "supervolcano".
Lastly, another place that is prone to natural disasters is Florida. They are prone to hurricanes because they are right on the coastline and since many hurricanes form over the ocean near the Caribbean, Florida is one of the first places to be affected by the hurricane.
It's hard for people to accept change. This is a common fact that the majority of us overlook, or even refuse to accept. For that reason exactly, we need to understand why it may be painful to move people away from they're comfort zone hazardous or not. This is a bit more than just using our, not so common sense. This is a matter of a subconscious emotional issue, that some aren't willing to just give in to.
ReplyDeleteFor example, California. California is home to many natural disasters, relating to one of the most infamous faults.. The San Andres Fault Line. It's been proven that California, due to this fault will one day (more than likely not in our lifetime) break apart from the land mass. Anyway, several people experience every single day. Just not enough magnitude to do enough damage to the surroundings. There is alot of history, and attractions and stars in Cali. It's no wonder people are so attached to the California style of living. New York, in particular New York City is on water. We are prone to Tsunamis, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, and Floods. New York is obviously a great place for opportunity, but also extremely dangerous. Finally, Florida. Home of some of the worst hurricanes each year. This is the natural 'magnet' if you will, for these types of tropical water fueled storms. There are several reasons, like for example tourist attractions, and also the most commonly used East Coast ship ports in the country.
Many people tend to live in places which are prone to natural disasters. There are many reasons why people wouldn't want to leave their homes. They might think that a serious natural disaster that would cause a lot of damage is rare. Also, they probably have a strong connection to where they live and have many memories with their family and friends so they wouldn't want to leave. There also might not be many job opportunities elsewhere and they feel comfortable living where they are now. Three locations that are prone to natural disasters are Florida, California and Hawaii. Florida tends to have many hurricanes occur there because it is surrounded by water. California has thousands of earthquakes happen every year but are rarely felt. This is because California is located on the San Andreas fault. Hawaii is prone to volcanoes. People would not want to leave these areas because they have a beautiful scenery.

ReplyDeletePeople usually stay in places that have had frequent natural disasters because they probably were born there, giving them an innate sense of attachment.Sometimes its also because it may be too costly to move anywhere else. One place that is prone to natural disasters is California. It is prone to earthquakes because California has a major fault line under it. The houses in San Francisco have scenic views and that why people stay because of the natural beauty of the state. Another place that has natural disasters more frequently than others is the state of Hawaii.Hawaii has numerous volcanoes because most of the Hawaiian Islands were formed at the boundaries of tectonic plates. The pacific plate, the edge on which Hawaii lies, is part of the pacific ring of fire. It is really beautiful in Hawaii and the locals there stay because of this. The last place on my list would be Oklahoma. It is located in the heart of tornado alley. Oklahoma is No. 1 in number of tornadoes in the whole U.S. The towns are small in Oklahoma so many of the people stay in the town because most of their families are there and they want to stay with family.
People live in places where there are many hazards because it's home to them. Also, they sometimes don't believe the natural disasters will happen as frequently as they're suppose to. Some places like Hawaii, with active volcanoes is one example of a hazardous place that people live. Although Hawaii is hazardous, it also beautiful has a beautiful scenery and wonderful weather . Another beautiful place with active volcanoes is Naples, Italy. My last example would have to be Miami,Florida. Although it has beautiful all year around, there is a very high hurricane threat. The hurricanes are unpredictable in that area.
ReplyDeleteThere are unsafe places all over earth. Although they are unsafe, people still choose to live there and still choose to rebuild even after the biggest natural disasters. Three places that get hit with natural disasters frequently are Oklahoma, New York City and Naples. Oklahoma is the dead center of Tornado Valley, New York City is going to be hit with a strong hurricane, stronger than sandy within the decade and Naples has a giant volcano just waiting to do damage. The question still remains: why live there? The answer is because nobody is safe, no matter where they live. The world is a dangerous place and natural disasters will occcur no matter where you live, so why not live where you were born, why not be happy where you are?

ReplyDeletePeople usually live where natural disasters accure is because that's where the are usually raised and that's there childhood place. People will be stubborn to move or can't afford to move to a safer area. People think that it's wrong to leave where they grew up. Sometimes it's a childhood memory or they couldn't let go of what they grew up with. If I lived somewhere where I grew up as a kid and there were natural disasters I really wouldn't want to move eaither. That's my childhood. I wouldn't let my childhood go that easy. I wouldn't let it go so easy. My memories are in that place or what I have left of my family or childhood.
Three locations where natural disasters happen is California , Naples , New York. California is earthquake land. Naples is a tornado valley . New York is a hail storm.

ReplyDeleteWith the knowledge of natural disasters occurring in certain areas people still choose to live there. Most of these places are where people were raised or its a nice place to live. Hawaii, California and New York are a few examples. Some people are stubborn and disregard the dangers that come with living in these areas. Natural disasters occur everywhere some people choose to stay because they may have grown up with natural disasters or their family is there.

ReplyDeleteMany people know some of the hazards of living in certain place do people choose to live there anyway. I think every area has a specific disaster it is known for, and others that aren't so common. So no matter where you go, you'll face a natural disaster at some point. Also, some people don't like to change. That area could be where they grew up, where they have family and friends, a good place to raise their own family.
That area could also be an affordable place to live, houses might be cheap and the cost of living might be lower. It could be their jobs are closer to that area, and traveling everyday would be easier for them. There are locations that known to be on the path of a particular natural disaster and many people still choose to live there. Some people just think natural disasters won't affect them. For example people that live in Hawaii, parts of California, and parts of the mid-west are all in high risk areas. People that live in areas that are next to a volcano; weather it is inactive or not, risk a chance of it erupting everyday. In parts of California, earthquakes happen everyday but people continue to live there. In the mid-west people know tornados are common, but they still live there. These people take precautions and most have a plan incase a natural disaster occurs. It's their choice to live there, even though they all have different reasons.
Why, when people know some of the hazards of living in certain place do people choose to live there anyway? Pinpoint 3 locations that are known to be on the path of a particular natural disaster and explain why people choose to live there.
ReplyDeleteWell people are very strong willed even to the point where they would stand their ground even to the point of death. Nobody really wants to give up the things they love or the ones they love for that fact either, and when someone has put their whole lives into a house letting that go is a terrible feeling. So in that aspect of things a person might stay to try and live out the danger in a place where they feel safe. Others might even be skeptical about the true danger potential in the up coming storm so they feel like things will just blow over and he wont be the first one to be robed once everyone leaves. Then there are the few who simply cant afford or don’t have the means to move away from the danger so they are helpless to what ever the storm brings weather they like it or not. The three places that come to my mind that are easily hit are New Orleans simply because its below sea level with an inadequate protection system, San Diego because they live right on top of q major fault line that has shown it can do serious damage in the past, and any one living in tornado alley because the name spells out the danger for you. All of these places have track records of death and destruction but there are people still living there simply because it is their way of life, its the only kind they know and people are stubborn till the point of death in some cases.
The 3 locations would be California, Florida, and Hawaii. People live in these locations because of everything else besides natural disasters. People might live there because of the weather not because earthquakes or tsunamis might occur at any time. They also might live in specific places in one of the locations because its cheaper or has good views.

ReplyDeleteWhen people know some of the hazards of living in certain place the people choose to live there anyway because nowhere is really safe to live. There are always going to be natural disasters such at hurricanes, landslides, tornadoes but they are in different areas. For example New York is known to have some hurricanes every now and than but than there California that has earthquakes. Everywhere has natural disasters some or miner and some have drastic. People know that there is hazards almost everywhere but there no way of running from it. Three places known for natural disasters would be Hawaii, California and New Orleans. Natural Disasters in California is earthquakes, in New Orleans its tornadoes, in Hawaii its Volcanic Eruptions. People chose to live in areas by weather, land, houses, the pay. There are many reasons some choice according to houses, people chose on there own.
the reason some people stay even though they know its not safe to is because theres either an attachment to the place or memories there. 3 locations that are a path for disasters are beach front homes. living by water is nice & luxurious but when hurricanes & tsunami's come they wash away all your property. next is florida. miami for example. lovely place. hotspot of florida. a very popular place. but they never know when a hurricane will hit.lastly hawaii. with its beautiful water & nice weather land and people. thier volcanic eruptions dont stop no one. living with these risks are the peoples choice.
ReplyDeleteBRITTANY JEAN_LUBIN
Not every place is safe to live in. However, that will not stop certain people from leaving, relocating and such of this nature. The location is very soothing, warming and beautiful to stay. These places they stay at are also known as their dream spots. As a kid, imagining when they can live in such and such. Places that describe this perfectly are Florida, Japan and Hawaii. The Hurricanes and Volcanoes rarely stop for them. Even with this being said, determining a person’s lifestyle is far from easy. At this point the only thing that can be done is stabilizing the lad so they can feel more comfortable living with no worries of natural disasters.
ReplyDeletePeople choose to live where they please even though it is dangerous due to natural disasters because they may feel is comfortable. Many people think that natural disasters wouldn't affect them at all. They feel that because it happened once it wouldnt happen until a very long time. Some people just take advantage because they know the government would help them recover from any type of natural disaster. 3 places where that are known for a paths of natural disasters are california , japan and hawaii. California has many earthquakes. Statistics show sometimes more than 50 a year. California has good rich land, good for people to live om besides the fact its location in above a fault in the earths crust. Japan is an island which has many tidal waves and tsunami's and Hawaii can have volcano eruptions. These people choose to live im this places for the comfort of themselves. They take natural disasters for granted. It would take something devastating to happen for a large percent of population to realize they cant live in these places.
